Javascript errors when user navigates during draft/heartbeat code in editor

      Internet Explorer 6, Firefox 1.5

      This problem occurs in both Internet Explorer and Firefox, with a popup error in Firefox, and intermittent crashes in some builds of IE.

      The user can navigate by either clicking the 'Save' button on the page, clicking one of the editor tabs (Preview), or clicking on any other link on the page.

      This is a parent issue linked to descriptions of the problem in different browsers.
