We've discovered that this issue has been duplicated by the issue at CONFSERVER-28739 - copy and pasting web images will not attach the image to the page. While this is a confirmed bug in Confluence, please watch that issue for further updates, and more detailed workarounds.
Currently web images are displayed through a link to the original content.
This ticket is to suggest an option that allows the image data to be uploaded to confluence and embedded to the page.

After comparing this feature request against the known bug report CONFSERVER-28739 - copy and pasting web images will not attach the image to the page we realized that both are addressing the same scenario. Since we consider
