We are noticing that Imported Word documents do not retain paragraph <p> tags in Confluence (a view on the source code shows them as <br> instead. Additionally, if you add paragraph tags in Confluence page and edit that page in Word the paragraph tags are lost.

            Hi All,

Thanks for taking the time to raise and comment on this issue. Unfortunately this issue hasn't been updated in the last 1 years and rather than leave this on the backlog I have decided to close this as won't fix. I believe that this better reflects the status of this issue.
If this issue is raised again in the future we'll re-asses this status.

            Regards
            Minh Tran

What is the status of this long outstanding bug? Are there any plans to address this? It is preventing the roll out of our Confluence wiki.

In combination with tools like Scroll Office, this is a MAJOR inconvenience. It is not possible to import Word documents into confluence, edit them there and at some later stage export them to word again. At least not without hacking all "linebreaks" into "paragraphs". Additional challenge for bonus points : How do you know, which linebreak was meant to be and which one was wrongly imported months ago .....

Same true for the Wiki markup with Conf3.5. Any workaround via CLI and global search & replace ?

Hello, please let me know if a fix is being planned for this in an upcoming relase and please consider moving it up in the priority list as it is delaying adoption by our authors. They appreciate the flexibility for having Word/Confluence integration, and just want to be able to write content without having to fight formatting issues. The latest version for Office Connector (1.14) has no fix for the problem.
