Option to Send Plain Text Emails Instead of HTML

      NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

      Due to an accessibility issue, HTML is not an option for certain users. Would like the option to be able to use plain text as opposed to HTML for notifications.

            Even sending emails that have both text/plain and text/html parts would be a big improvement and it is standard practice.  Then each user can configure their email client to display the part type they are interested in.

            I understand this is in "gathering interest" phase, but I think for this particular feature, being so cleanly defined, there is not much to comment about. For what is worth, people from our team (me included) prefer text e-mails wherever possible. It would be really nice to have this, especially when Jira has that option.

            Please make this a global option and per user. We need that for supporting users who can only accept plain text.

            I agree this needs to be tracked as bug because JIRA provide the same functionality out of the box so I am not sure why Confluence doesn't. We have lot of users who can't use HTML notifications at this moment and we don't have any solution for them.
