I'm trying to set up a fresh installation of Confluence. I've downloaded the 5.6.1 artifact and start it up. After clicking the production button, I get prompted for the license. After that point I'm kicked over to the embedded database url.

I'm now installing 5.5.6 (which let's me pick the database type) and then will upgrade to 5.6.1 from there

[CONFSERVER-34799] Installer keeps setting up embedded database

            Hi Again,

            UPDATE:

it works. didn't change anything... weird...

I've installed it (5.5.6) linked to PostgreSQL and chose Empty site for then to upgrade and import the backup but...
I'm not allowed to login with the default username: sysadmin, password: sysadmin. This version uses other admin account?

            Cheers,
            Francisco

            Hey francisco.cabrita,

We don't have a official date, however I believe next version of Confluence that contains the fix will be release in a few weeks (probably). I understand is not the optional solution but to avoid the above problem you can install 5.5.6 and then upgrade to 5.6.1 .

            Thanks and Regards,
            David|Confluence Support Engineer

I'm seeing the same issue on a CentOS 6 server with Confluence 5.6.x.

I will try installing 5.5.x for now as I need to test Crowd integration, and that's far easier to do with an external database to import users from.

Happy to know I wasn't going crazy.

Confirmed that for 5.6 and 5.6.1 the license screen will switch you back to a trial setup if you put in an eval license.

            Hi Daniel

Thanks for the prompt update. One other question for you: Do you know which licence you've purchased?
