Ability to delete versions individually was added in 2013:

      https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-996

In the scenario of wanting to go live with a Confluence wiki, the ability to purge a page's entire history would be useful and save time.

[CONFSERVER-34194] Add ability to bulk delete page history

This feature is available with a Confluence Data Center license.

            Sorry about that

The Retention Rules documentation page linked above starts with this sentence:

This feature is available with a Confluence Data Center license.

So it is solved only for those lucky souls equipped with the right license tier.

            This seems to be resolved:

And not only for page versions, but for attachments and trash as well. And Confluence administrators can control if space administrators can edit retention rules for their spaces. So very well done Atlassian!

It would be realy useful to delete all page history of a space or even of the complete confluence instance.

I did it now directly in the database but it would save much time if this feature would be implemented by Atlassian.

The ability to purge history form the entire site has also been useful.
