Save button partly hidden by Tooltip - prevents saving a page

    • We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

The tool-tip for saving a page is changed from "Save your page (Ctrl+S)" to "Save your page (Type 'Ctrl+S')". This hides part of the Save button (see screenshots).

Beside that this is annoying it sometimes even misleads the user and causes problems when people think they have saved a page and closes the browser.

The same issue in Confluence in 5.10.4.

Though for one user the text is "Save your page (Ctrl+S)" and for another one "Save your page Type (Ctrl+S)"

It is reproduced for Site default (English) in Profile.

For English (US) it is OK.

            Confirmed on Confluence server 6.0.1

            Quite annoying.

Not sure why, but for me the text is now "Save your page (Ctrl+S)" after upgrading from Confluence 5.4.4 to 5.5.7.

Given the comments here, I doubt however that the issue is fully resolved....

I have the same issue, however, under certain circumstances.
            IE only
            Save/Preview button for comments
When page is reloaded which makes the url end with "?showComments=true&showCommentArea=true#addcomment"

The language package fix did not work for me.

            Confluence 5.8.10

            Regards

This seems like it could be a quick fix for something that affects a lot of users day to day. This occurs for me on Linux + Chrome with minimum font sizes set.

We have the language set to UK English and the problem occurs so that's not a reliable fix.

@chrisk As far as I'm aware the only way to install language packs in Confluence is to go via the Atlassian translation page and download the packs from there. (at least that's how it appeared to be ever since we upgraded to 5.0 (or was it 5.1?) which was roughly 3-4 months ago).

And for the record: we started getting the same issue here after upgrading from 5.1.5 to 5.2.5. Quite annoying one. Language is set to English US - changing the language back to English UK fixes the issue.

Unfortunately we seem to have removed all language packs other than English. When I went to the Atlassian Marketplace to download them again, they do not seem to be there. There are NO language packs on the marketplace, only community language packs. I can download the community version but I would assume Confluence had shipped with official versions from Atlassian?

Our requirement was that users could not select an other language then English.
First place we disabled the language packages, but not the English language package. Then we got this Tooltip issue.
Later on we realized that disabling the language packages could be the cause of the tooltip problem.
We enabled them (all) language packages again (tooltip problem solved) and removed the option to select languages in the .vm files of the Confluence installation.
