Automatically insert JIRA issue macro in Confluence page after the page is added in JIRA issue links and vice versa

    • We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

Currently, you can JIRA issue from a Confluence page and vice versa.

There should be an option or feature which allow a bidirection link which will create a link in JIRA and Confluence side automatically. This way, user do not need to manually create a JIRA issue macro in Confluence side or create confluence link in JIRA side if they wish to allow visibility of the page and issue from both of the application.

jcheok, do you happen to know the version of JIRA that was linked to the Confluence instance?

JIRA 6.1.3 or higher is needed to create a bi-directional link, which will display the "JIRA links" button on the Confluence page up to 5 minutes after the link is created.

If JIRA 6.2 or higher is being used, you can also upgrade the Confluence JIRA links plugin in Confluence 5.4.x to make the bi-directional link visible immediately, without having to wait for any cached "JIRA links" counts to expire.

Hmm could someone confirm? etom? I thought that if you linked from JIRA to a Confluence page, the issue should appear in the metadata banner in Confluence

I think this means when you create a Page Link from JIRA, there isn't a link shown in Confluence, and really should be a JRA ticket.

Err this should happen today. If you paste paste a link from Confluence it should automatically create a link in JIRA... is this not happening for you?
