Paste images into the editor from clipboard using Firefox 22.x and above does not work

NOTE: This bug report is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding bug report.

      Steps to reproduce

      1. Create a page
      2. Capture a screenshot or a smaller image to clipboard
      3. Paste it into the editor

      Expected behavior
As like in Chrome it should add the image as attachment and display when saving the page.

      Actual behavior
Image is show in the editor, but once saving the page it will display as 'Broken image'

Reproduced on Ubuntu with Firefox 22.x as well as in a Windows 7 VirtualBox too. With Firefox 19.x it worked fine.

      Workaround

Same here, Firefox pastes images from clipboard as "graphic.png" so the image in the page will be always overwritten.

In Opera/Edge/Chrome the pasted image is inserted with a timestamp in the filename.

            Edit: Firefox 100, Confluence 7.18.1

Same issue found recently on Firefox 79.0 with Confluence 7.4.0.

Some of the images shown as broken icon when browsing with Safari while they will show error message like "!http://wiki.djbx.com/plugins/servlet/confluence/placeholder/error?i18nKey=editor.placeholder.broken.image&locale=en_GB&version=2!com.atlassian.confluence.content.render.xhtml.XhtmlException: Missing required attribute: {http://atlassian.com/resource/identifier}value" with Chrome browser.

Not all the attached images are broken but some of them are.

Please find root cause and solve the issue ASAP.

Having this exact issue with Chrome 81 and Firefox 75. They're running on Windows 10. Confluence's version is 6.15.9 running on an Ubuntu server.
