      Confluence 5.1.1

When accessing Confluence 5.1.1 via Firefox Mobile for Android, the browser isn't recognised as a mobile browser and is only offered the desktop version of the application.

This does not occur when using the stock Android browser on the same phone, hence I suspect a user agent validation problem.

      User agent identifies itself as:
      "Mozilla/5.0 (Android; Mobile; rv:20.0) Gecko/20.0 Firefox/20.0"

[CONFSERVER-28916] Firefox Mobile on Android not served Confluence Mobile UI

Hello, why is this issue closed? Firefox for Android still shows desktop Confluence site version/

Please make the user agent detection configurable so that administrators can (on their own risk) enable the mobile version for other agents too.

This issue is "resolved"? Sorry, I'm having the same problem, it still exists. At least be honest and set it to "will not fix"!

Making this apparent decision to ignore a major browser is a Very Bad Sign given the shift to mobile. Other vendor programs work seamlessly with FF mobile, and this gives me a strong reason to switch.

            Hi there!

We're hit by this bug, too.

Though Firefox may not be officially spported, it's only a trivial fix to widen the too narrow user agent detection.

Please do so, because we want to use Web apps not Internet Explorer Apps.

            hi Steve,

I realise that Atlassian may not want to support Firefox Mobile officially - after all, one has the draw the line somewhere with guaranteeing browser support.

However just a simple change to classify Firefox Mobile as a mobile browser, would make the user experience for Confluence (and JIRA) so much better rather than serving up the desktop version of the applications with is very difficult to use.

            regards,
            jethro

Same for JIRA. Mobile UI is served for Chrome and the built-in browser, but not Firefox.

            Hi Jethro

Thanks for raising this issue. At the current time Confluence mobile is only supported on the default Android browsers which is probably why you are seeing the desktop version rather than the mobile specific version.

            Regards
