Confluence 4.x
NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.
It takes a lot of annoying handwork to setup and customize Confluence to isolate different target groups within one Confluence instance.
One of the most challenging parts is all the social network features. Currently it's just an all or nothing approach.
But instead of disable all the feature globally, I would like to have an option to limit this features on a group-level, e.g.
- Group our-company can collaborate with customer-A and customer-B
- Group customer-A can only collaborate with our-company
- Group customer-F can collaborate with our-company, customer-A and customer-B
So all the features like
- hovering
- mention
- follow
- etc.
will be limited to specific groups.
This could be a big step towards a real multi-tenancy Confluence ...

Hi Ahmad, thanks for the detailed Improvement.
Broadly I think this is the same request as CONF-1882, so I've marked it as a duplicate of that, but linked your ticket to it so it can be used for reference.
