So anyone with Firefox 7 and beyond, Or IE7 and beyond is just out of luck on 3.5.x... No fix (supported or not), just "upgrade to 4.x"... Not everyone has that luxury!? (a lot of tweaks to be made to get to 4.x, many plugins become paid versions, no wiki markup for those familiar with it, User Macros need updating, etc etc)

            Hi Steve,

Unfortunately we won't be able to back port this fix to 3.5.

            Thanks,
            John

Having tried to install the 4.1.4 jar on my 3.5.13 installation I can confirm that it does not work. What it does is remove the drag/drop box completely which for IE9 is fine because drag/drop is not working and doesnt prompt for Google Gears. But for Firefox this is disappointing. Our organisation is simply not ready to drop wiki markup and we would greatly appreciate this fix for 3.5.13.

FYI - the fix for this seems to have caused CONF-24277

matrixplasm I'm afraid you would have to upgrade to 4.1.1 (which actually gives you heaps more than just d&d for images ). The editor has changed quite a bit so the drag and drop plugin won't be compatible with older versions of Confluence.

So, the only solution now is to upgrade to 4.1.1? Anything for 3.5.13? (hate ta give up wiki coding ability and move to 4.X just for drag and drop images)

I'll test it on my dev instance and give feedback.
            thank you for your reply

Oliver, there's not really any official or tested way of applying this fix to your current install. The recommended fix is to upgrade to Confluence 4.1.1 which is due soon.

However, you could try getting 4.1.1 and extracting the drag and drop plugin from .../confluence/WEB-INF/classes/com/atlassian/confluence/setup/atlassian-bundled-plugins.zip. The file you want from the zip is called confluence-drag-and-drop-4.1.1.jar. You would then manually install this plugin on your existing installation.

However, as I said previously this is completely untested and the older your installation the less likely it is that the 4.1.1 version of the plugin will be compatible.
