Searching for strings with german umlauts are no problem without wildcard.
F.e. the word "Mikrohärtemessung" with the umlaut character "ä":
"Mikrohärtemessung" finds Mikrohärtemessung (OK).
"Mikrohartemessung" is finding Mikrohärtemessung (Good).
"Mikroh*" is finding all: Mikrohärte, Mikrohärtemessung, Mikrohärteprüfung, etc. (OK).
"Mikroharte*" is finding all: Mikrohärte, Mikrohärtemessung, Mikrohärteprüfung, etc. (OK).
BUT:
"Mikrohä*" (containing the umlaut) finds nothing, zero.
