    • We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

Often when I come across a page or blog post in Confluence that I want to comment on, I'd love to know who is actually watching that page or blog so I know if those users that I want to see my comment or edit will actually get notified of it.

It would be awesome if we could put somewhere on the page/blog a section called Watchers which would list all those users that are watching the page, like we currently do in the Profile sidebar on a user's personal space.

Imagine if we had a sidebar for each page or blog that looked like the image attached.

      Notes

      • Hover Profile would work when hovering over a user's profile picture
      • When you click on the More link for Recent Comments you should be taken to the top of the comments for that page/blog
      • When you click on the More link for Recent Edits you should be taken to the Page History

[CONFSERVER-16835] List Watchers in sidebar for pages/blogs

Surely if you are a page creator this wouldn't be privileged information? Space administration rights are handed out sparingly by, I suspect, most companies with ever increasing behind covering policies. It makes it difficult to manage a team.

lolita.plajbes - this functionality is accessible in the Confluence web interface too - space admins can see the list of watchers of a page under Watch > Manage Watchers (previously under Tools > Manage Watchers).

We limit the access only to space admins, as we consider the information of who is watching what to be somewhat privileged. Space admins can also add new watchers to the page using this dialog.

I do not understand how exposing it in the API and hence the resolution of CONF-5032 means that this issue can be resolved as a duplicate.

Matt, I really see this as a duplicate of CONF-5032 (resolved for Confluence 3.3), just with a specific opinion on where to put the list of watchers. It isn't a separate feature to "add the ability to view watchers", unless I'm missing something.

            Do you agree?
