RBAC provides 4 default roles to customers: Admin, Manager, Collaborator, and Viewer. https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/what-are-confluences-roles/.

In some cases, product admins would like to modify the default roles names, descriptions, and permissions to better align with how access is managed across their site. 

Examples: 

• Changing which permissions each default role has

• Editing role names and descriptions to match internal naming or expectations
