Issue Summary
The documentation and error alerts for the "Change page status" automation action in Confluence are incorrect. The action only supports a 'single space' scope, but both the UI alerts and documentation are inaccurate.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create or edit an automation rule in Confluence.
- Set the rule’s Scope to ‘All Spaces’.
- No statuses are displayed.
- The alert shows:
“We can’t run a rule relating to page status on a global scope. Select Rule details and change the Scope field to one or more spaces.
We could not find the specified content statuses. Please try again.”
- Set the rule’s Scope to multiple spaces (but not all).
- Statuses are displayed.
- If you select a status, an alert shows:
“This action can only be used with single space scope”
Expected Results
The UI and documentation should clearly state that the "Change page status" action is only supported for a single space. When using ‘All Spaces’ or multiple spaces, the UI should prevent selection and provide a clear, accurate message.
Actual Results
- With ‘All Spaces’ selected, no statuses are displayed, and the alert is misleading.
- With multiple spaces selected, statuses are displayed, but selecting one triggers an alert that the action only works with a single space.
- The documentation for Actions in Confluence automation incorrectly suggests that multiple spaces are supported once the scope is saved.
Workaround
Use a single space in the automation setting.
