Problem
Most third-party macros, including Aura and Karma Page Builder, are not fully supported in the Confluence Mobile App for iOS and Android due to limited macro rendering capabilities.
In recent versions on Android devices, instead of rendering the macro content natively, the app should display the macro as "source" and allow the user to open it in a mobile web view. However, a blank screen is displayed (when expanding the macro content)
Environment
- Confluence Mobile App for Android
- App Versions: 4.21.X.X and 4.22.X.X
- Third-party Macros: Aura, Karma Page Builder
Steps to Reproduce
- Open the Confluence Mobile App on an Android device.
- Navigate to a page containing a third-party macro like Aura or Karma Page Builder.
- Attempt to view the macro content.
Expected Results
The macro should display as "source" within the app, and tapping it should open the macro in a mobile web view version of the page.
Actual Results
A blank screen is displayed instead of the mobile web view of the macro content.
Workaround
No effective workaround identified for Android devices. For iOS devices, terminating and relaunching the application allows the app to detect and load the correct configuration.
Notes
- The issue is also reported on iOS, where terminating and relaunching the application resolved the issue.
- No recent backend modifications specifically related to this topic have been identified.
- The issue persists on Android, as the same workaround does not apply.
