Problem
When a Space or Site Admin attempts to change the page owner using the Content Manager, the action fails if the new owner lacks Edit Permissions for the page.
The failure message "Owner changed for 0 items" does not clarify the permission issue, leading to confusion.

Next, use the search field to find a new owner by name or email. The new owner must have access to the space and edit access to the item for you to be able to make them the owner.
Once you've chosen the correct person, select Change owner to confirm the transfer.
After changing ownership to someone else, you still retain edit access, but won't be able to change the owner back to yourself (unless you're also an admin).
Environment
Space or Site Admin using Content Manager in Confluence Cloud.
Steps to Reproduce
- As a Space or Site Admin, navigate to the Content Manager.
- Attempt to change the owner of a page to a user who does not have Edit Permissions for that page.
Expected Results
A clear error message indicating that the operation failed because the new page owner lacks Edit Permissions.
Actual Results
The operation fails with the message "Owner changed for 0 items," without specifying the reason for failure.
Workaround
Review the new owner's permissions to ensure they have Edit Permissions on the page. Using the Admin Key may help if view permissions are restricted.
Alternatively, contact Atlassian Support for assistance in troubleshooting.
Notes
Improving the error message would help users understand the reason for the failure and take appropriate actions to resolve permission issues.
