Issue Summary
Confluence Macro Usage Statistics shows how macros are used across a Confluence Cloud site.
However, this feature does not consider and count macros on restricted pages. It only shows count of macros from non-restricted pages.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a page 'page 1' and add a macro, i.e toc
- Create another page 'page 2' and add same macro toc
- And restrict the page so only you have access to the page.
- Wait for about an hour so the asynchronous processes can update macro usage data.
- Check the Macro Usage page to see usage of toc
Expected Results
toc should show its use to be 2
Actual Results
toc usage is shown as 1. But when user goes to hyperlink to view the macro pages, then they are able to see 2 pages because they can access both pages.
But if an admin without access to a restricted page follow the link then they will only see one page.
Regardless of page restrictions Macro Usage need to show correct usage even if user cannot access the content.
Workaround
If you are an admin, use an admin key to elevate your privilege. With the elevated privileges, the Macro Usage page will be accurate since restricted pages will no longer pose an issue.
