Summary: Request to bring back the ability to set a limit on the number of history items displayed by the History macro, which was available on the Server edition, but is currently missing from the Cloud edition.
Use Case: On the Server edition, the History macro had a configurable option that allowed users to set a limit on the number of past changes shown. This was useful for preventing long lists of history from overwhelming a page, especially on frequently edited pages. However, on the Cloud edition, this functionality has been removed. As a result, users are forced to display the entire history or none at all, which can lead to cluttered pages and make it difficult for teams to focus on recent changes.
Requirement: Reintroduce the ability to set a limit on the number of history items displayed by the History macro on the Cloud edition, mirroring the functionality that existed on the Server edition. This should allow users to customize how much history is visible, improving usability and page load times on pages with a large number of edits.
Benefits:
- Reduces clutter on pages with extensive edit history
- Allows users to focus on recent and relevant changes
- Improves page load time for pages with a large history
- Aligns Cloud edition functionality with that of the Server edition for a smoother transition and consistent user experience
