Description
Problem
Currently, Confluence doesn't support the ability or have a macro to display the content statuses of child pages on a parent page.
The status functionality in Confluence is mainly for visual representation on individual pages and is not designed to be reportable or displayable on a parent or other page. This poses a limitation when users wish to get an overview of the statuses of all child pages at a glance from the parent page.
Suggested Solution
Implement a feature that allows the statuses of child pages to be displayed on a parent page. This could be in the form of a new macro that fetches and displays the status of each child page in a list or table format.
Or an improvement with the 'page tree' or 'child pages' macros, where a setting could be included to specify which child pages to include based on labels or other criteria.
Why This Is Important
This feature would enhance content organization and status tracking within Confluence. It would provide users with a quick and easy way to track the status of multiple child pages from a single location, improving content management efficiency.
Workaround
While there is no direct workaround to display page statuses, users can use a combination of 'Page Properties and Status' macros, or with an 'Excerpt and Child pages macro' to create a reportable status system.
However, having this with an already existing feature would be easier.
