XMLWordPrintable

    • Minor

      Problem

The 'Child Pages' macro does not appear in PDF exports unless the macro parameters have a selection made for "Sort Children By."

      Environment

      • Confluence Cloud
      • PDF Export Functionality

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create a new page or navigate to an existing page in Confluence.
      2. Insert the Children Display macro into the page without making a selection for "Sort Children By."
      3. Save the page.
      4. Export the page as a PDF.

      Expected Results

The 'Child Pages' macro should be visible in the exported PDF, regardless of whether a selection has been made for "Sort Children By"

      Actual Results

The 'Child Pages' macro does not appear in the exported PDF unless a selection is made for "Sort Children By"

      Workaround

      There are two workarounds available:

      1. Export the page to Word format.
The issue does not occur in Word exports, and the Child Pages macro appears as expected.
      2. Manually set the "Sort Children By" selection each time the Child Pages macro is used.
Consider using REST API or scripting to automate the process if there are a large number of pages with the Child Pages macro.
