PDF space export stuck at 50% when falling back to previous PDF export service

      Issue Summary

      • If a Space has over 2000 (current limit) pages, it falls back to the older PDF export service.
      • This service fails to export the Space if there's ~1000+ attachments, and hangs the export at 50%.

      Steps to Reproduce

      • Navigate to space with more than 1000 attachments.
      • Perform a Full PDF export.

      Expected Results

      • Export finished successfully.

      Actual Results

      • The export falls back to the older PDF export service as there's more than 1k content in the Space.
      • Export stuck at 50 % with the message Begin conversion of Intermediate HTML to PDF.

      Workaround

      • Perform a custom export with a minimal number of pages to reduce the number of attachments in the export file.
        • When trying the custom export, please export the Restricted pages separately, as these pages will not be added to the export.

            Hi all, at this point we are not officially supporting space PDF exports above 2000 pages or 1000 attachments. Please watch this feature suggestion ticket for updates: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-76314

            Space-level page limit for PDF Export has been raised to 2000 pages. For spaces beyond this size, the job will fall back to legacy PDF Export which runs into the error described above. While we are looking at ways to scale beyond 2000 pages, it will be a tough to achieve in the short term.

            We are currently instrumenting how frequently is a space with more than 2000 pages exported. The next steps will be shared after we have that data.
