User Story
As a Confluence anyone, I need to be able to use the original panel macro because it is the only macro I have which can make a customizable box.
Context
The classic "panel" macro allowed users to create a one- or two-sectioned box, with a few basic options. This in turn was useful for a wide variety of visually useful elements such as:
- Navigation Bars
- Quick Links
- Buttons
- Information panes (similar to Wikipedia's right-rail 'quick facts')
The removal of this macro has created a gap that, as of now (going on 3+ years), remains unfilled. This request was raised originally on CONFCLOUD-66752 but the result of that ask was an improved "info panel" macro instead.
As called out ad infinitum on that issue, these are not the same macro and while you could probably use "panel" to replace "info panel" the reverse is not true. The improved info panel macro is cool and also does not address this problem in any way.
