We've investigated this issue and determined the problem is caused by unsupported copy & paste formats that are seen in some Microsoft Office tools.

Issue Summary
Upon creating notes and adding images into Microsoft's OneNote, if the user copies these images and pastes them into Confluence pages, nothing happens.
The behavior seems to be intermittent.
Steps to Reproduce
- In Microsoft's OneNote, create a note and upload images to it.
- Copy these images (CMD/CRTL+C) and paste them into a page while being edited in Confluence (CMD/CRTL+V)
Expected Results
The image should be pasted as it happens with images copied from external sources.
Actual Results
Nothing happens. As if no content was copied.
Workaround
- Paste the image from OneNote into a Microsoft Word document and then, paste it into the Confluence page.
- Upload the image directly to Confluence
