With the implementation of the new editor, everything was re-made and re-created. That also applies to the table macro and the user experience while using it.
It would be useful to users to have the table toolbar implemented into the new editor:

Although most of the features of the toolbar itself are implemented into the table macro on the new editor, it may take more clicks to set the table as you would like to, when comparing to the experience provided by the old editor.
