This is frustrating me as a user. I've been forced into Confluence as a company choice despite previously using competitors tools which honestly worked much better in many ways, and this width issue is a major one for me and my team.
We would like to use Confluence to manage lots of technical information. Artificially limiting the viewable page width limits our ability to store and manage our information. This is even more frustrating to us as developers as it would be a simple change to the UI code.
The intention to "improve readability" is misguided as that's only true for short, simple example text. (I'm guessing that's all the use cases and test data Atlassian uses for this feature has) As soon as users start adding lots of information the length of the pages and amount of scrolling increases, which is exactly the reverse of the stated useability goals!
Rather than a Feature, I would call this as a Bug which is limiting our useability of Atlassian new Editor. Where all new features such as Atlassian AI Intelligence are available on "New Editor", Due to this "Bug", we are forced to stay on old editor. I would request to please prioritise this Feature/Bug asap. This will really help the team to leverage other latest offerings from Atlassian.
