Description
Issue Summary
When trying to edit a page that you actually have permission in the space and it is restricted to edit for your user, the pencil icon (edit option) is not visible. Then, if you try to access the restrictions on the page (padlock icon) and try to remove and add your user again, the below error is shown:
"Error
There was an error submitting the page restrictions. Please try again later"
Environment
- Cloud
Steps to Reproduce
This issue actually is very inconsistent. We, from the Atlassian Support, could not find how to reproduce this issue so far, although we have a workaround.
Also, the browser console doesn't log anything when applying the change on the restrictions, and the network tab shows everything working fine, so far. However, that's how we face this weird behavior:
- Access a page that you actually have rights to edit;
- If the edit icon is gone, click on the padlock icon;
- Perform a dummy change in the page restrictions and save it.
Expected Results
You got your page restrictions changed according to what you just did.
Actual Results
The mentioned error appears and you still cannot edit the page.
Workaround
If you are the space admin:
- Go to Space Settings > Permissions > Restricted pages;
- Find the page you are looking for and click over the padlock icon;
- From the Page Information page, click over the ellipses (right top side of the page) and select Restrictions;
- Perform a dummy change and the page is editable again.
Notes
Some customers are reporting that once you apply this workaround if you were to navigate to another page, and then go back to the affected page, you will find that you need to apply the workaround again in order to edit the page.
