Issue Summary
In Confluence, when you configure the application to allow anonymous access, the spaces will have the same options for normal users, like adding/removing pages, attach files, restrict pages. Similar to this bug in which the anonymous users are prompted to login when they try to create a new page, this report goes for the Restrictions and Add attachment permissions of the space.
If such permissions are granted, the anonymous user will not see the Restrictions options for the page (the padlock, or, under the page tools) and also, if trying to attach a file to a page, a message stating that there was an "Error connecting to server".
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a publicly available space by allowing anonymous access to confluence and providing all permissions to anonymous users under space permissions.
- Make sure to grant the anonymous user with the add permission for attachments and to add restrictions as well
- As an anonymous user, search for the restrictions option or try to upload a new attachment to the page.
Expected Results
The restrictions options should be displayed and the user should be able to upload a new attachment.
Actual Results
The restrictions dialog will not be displayed and the user should be able to attach a new file.
Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
