On confluence spaces, it is possible to reorder pages alphabetically but this happens to only be done ones. Meaning when a new page is created, the alphabetical order is no longer respected and the page gets created at the bottom of the pages tree.
The purpose of ordering alphabetically is to allow order and consistency in viewing the pages and creating new page should obey the alphabetical ordering once selected.
