      Duplicate Tasks in Reports

      Description

      Under some circustances, Tasks can be displayed as duplicate in Task Reports.
      This is not reproducible 100% of the time, but it has been reported multiple times.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. In a brand new Confluence page (from a template, such as Meeting Notes), create a task, mentioning a user as its assignee
      2. Publish the Page
      3. In a different page, create a task report macro, to show tasks assigned to that user and/or go the user's Profile > Tasks

      Expected Results

      Tasks are displayed as expected

      Actual Results

      Some tasks are displayed twice.

      Workarounds (May not work in all cases)

      1. Copy the page with the tasks
      2. Publish it
      3. Delete the original

      OR

      Contact Atlassian Support to manually remove duplicates.

            Hi everyone,

            Thank you for raising this bug to our attention, and my team and I appreciate the details provided to help us reproduce the bug. We are still having trouble narrowing down the issue on TinyMCE, but we have some good news as to a permanent solution. This bug affecting the tasks is only happening in the TinyMCE editor, and we have not anticipated any similar issues on the new Fabric editor as it's built on new architecture. We are actively rolling out the Fabric editor, so I encourage you to use the new editor as a solution.

            Hi, I've been looking into this issue. It's clearly reproducible as many customers have experienced the same issue, but I'm still working on reproducing locally so that I can debug. It is my main priority and I will keep you posted on my progress, thanks for the patience!

            We conduct retrospectives, review and planning on Confluence, which means tasks are created an assigned across multiple pages. The task report is key to being able to use Confluence effectively.
