Reordering a page (via Space Tools -> Reorder Pages) that has Task List macros that include dates causes duplicate tasks to appear under "My Tasks" view

Workarounds can be found in this KB article

      Steps to reproduce

      1. Create a new page in a space that already has some pages in it.
      2. Add a task list macro, mention your own user account, add a date to the task (with '//').
      3. Go to My Tasks, notice the newly-added task is only shown once.
      4. Go into Space Tools > Re-order Pages, move the page with the task macro on it to above or below where it is now.
      5. Go back to My Tasks, and the task on that page is now shown twice.

The task will be duplicated each time the page is moved.

@Alice: is there any schedule on when the release of the 5.6 is planned for the on-premise clients such as ourselves? Thanks!

Alice Wang, can you give us the SQL commands to remove them manually ourselves?

dbayless The fix is done. Its just waiting to go out in the earliest scheduled release to OD. As to when that is, i can't give you any exact dates as its out of my control.

Alice Wang, on July 14 you wrote, "As of v5.5.3 a fix has been included so that no more duplicate tasks will be created. However existing duplicate tasks still need to be cleaned up and this is being tested internally at the moment, and will make its way into a later release." What's the status of the fix for existing duplicate tasks? We've got so many that the tasks function remains effectively unusable.

patrick.vanhoof unfortunately that is to be expected as the sql doesn't delete all duplicates as outlined by the KB. The tasks that you can't check are most likely left over duplicates where the original page it was created on has been deleted and purged. There will be another release that will clean up these edge cases.

chris.voisey Can you please raise a support ticket and ask the support engineer to run follow the KB article linked by this ticket to help clear up the duplicates for your instance? As for OD updates, the fix is not going out in the next update as it is still waiting to go on our internal systems first.
