Confluence backup does not show the download link on Internet Explorer 11

Summary

Once a backup has been generated successfully, the user interface will display the message Please wait... without ever showing the download link to Internet Explorer 11 users.

Environment

• Internet Explorer 11
• Confluence Cloud 1000.1257.3

Steps to Reproduce

1. Generate a backup via the Backup manager

Expected Results

The backup completes and a download link is displayed to retrieve it.

Actual Results

The backup generation status displays Please wait... indefinitely even though the backup operation has completed successfully making it impossible for the end user to retrieve it.

Workaround

Use a different browser such as Google Chrome, Firefox, or Safari as the issue is only observed with Internet Explorer 11.
