Description
Summary
When trying to paste an image from the clipboard into a Confluence page in Internet Explorer, the attachment fails to display.
Environment
- Windows machine
- Internet Explorer 11 (note this does not occur in any other browser)
- Confluence 1000.340.0
Steps to Reproduce
- Open Confluence in Internet Explorer 11 on a PC
- Take a screenshot of a page (Prnt Screen) or use the Microsoft Snipping Tool
- Navigate to a page in Confluence and initiate edit of the page
- Paste the image into the page using CTRL + V or right click and paste
Expected Results
The attachment is successfully attached and can be previewed on the page.
Actual Results
The UI shows that the image is being attached, however, when the attaching process is complete, the image displays as an “X” as shown in the screenshot:
The file appears in the list of attachments on the page, but when trying to preview the file, it fails.
Workaround
Use Firefox or Chrome browsers to attach images in this way.
