Table of Contents macro links do not work when using Documentation theme

NOTE: This bug report is for Confluence Cloud. Using Confluence Server? See the corresponding bug report.

      Summary

The Table of Contents macro links do not redirect to the appropriate heading on the page when the Documentation theme is used in the space.

      Environment

      • Confluence Cloud version 5.9.1-OD-2015.47.1-0002
      • Space uses Documentation Theme

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create a space and apply the Documentation Theme
      2. Create a new page with several headings, add the Table of Contents macro
      3. Save the page, and attempt to click on one of the heading links in the table of contents

      Expected Results

      1. You are re-directed to the appropriate heading on the page

      Actual Results

      1. You are not re-directed

      Workaround

      1. Right clicking on a link and opening in a new window will place you in the correct area of the page.
      2. A better solution would be to switch to the default global look and feel for confluence, as the Documentation theme is being discontinued
      3. To make use of Table of Content Zone Macro instead of Table of Contents Macro.
        • When using the ToC Zone macro, ensure all content is placed in the body of the macro. The Table of contents is generated based on headings inside the macro body.

I just ran into this issue as I recently upgraded to 5.9.11 and I am NOT in Documentation theme.
Any suggestions on how to fix the TOC macro?

Hi bart.vander.huls1805366395 ~ You can actually embed the Livesearch macro onto the sidebar of a space that's not using the Documentation theme. This will give you an easy way to search just that particular space.

            To embed the Livesearch macro:

            1. Navigate to Space Administration > Sidebar, header footer
            2. Add the wiki markup for the Livesearch macrro to the Sidebar section. Be sure to modify the spaceKey in the markup accordingly.

The only reason we are using the Documentation theme is the ability to limit search results to the current space. Our organisation can not take the risk that certain actions are performed based on instructions in the wrong space. Now updating to a new Confluence release is made impossible since we can not use the Documentation theme in relation to the very often used TOC macro which has a bug (defining a live search in the navigation panel or on a page is not an option). Please (re)consider the restricted search functionality in the next release.

            Workaround

            • "Table of Contents macro" links can work when using Empty "ToC Zone macro".
              • Empty "ToC Zone macro" is not displayed on the Viewing Page

Type "{toc-zone}" only, to any place.
            Just this. (No Body)

            I do not know why.

            => in such situation

            (I am using Confluence 5.9.x)
