Description

The auto flow controls of cell contents is severely lacking. Atlassian has chosen not to implement a feature that would allow people to control widths and heights of a given cell (~~CONF-1398~~) which would have been one way to let people address display of their tables contents.

Most of the time I don't feel I need the ability to specify widths and heights of columns, rows, or cells. What I really want is a way to prevent Confluence from rendering my table in a less readable fashion. If I were able to use a

{nowrap} macro this would allow me a bit more control over things without having to resort to hacks like entering line breaks manually in a table cell to prevent it from squashing the contents of another cell where the contents of the second cell are most readable when on a single line. An example of what this would look like in wiki markup is provided below. (I cringe to think of how it would actually look in the WYSIWYG editor if you handle it the same way as some other elements.)

Prevents intended one line items from being wrapped onto multiple lines because of the auto-wrapping behavior normally used. Effectively it replaces spaces between the nowrap macro markers with a non-breaking space character  . |
