Removing a user from a Team Space does not remove them from the watchers of that space

When removing someone from a Team Space, that person remains a watcher of that space, which means they will still receive notifications for the space.

Users should be removed as watchers of the space and should not receive notifications relating to it.

      Workarounds:

      1. Ask the user to remove the watch from the space
      2. If you are a sysadmin, you could log in as that user by resetting their password, and remove the watch from their account (if you have considered and are comfortable with this option)

We're having this very same problem in our version 7.4.7.

Hello, we have version 7.4.6 and the bug still exists. Is there a solution for this in the meantime or do we still have to use the workaround? Many thanks in advanced.

stephen.gramm@nasa.gov, david.grierson1, that's correct. This issue required an upgrade task, so it had to be fixed in a major release, rather than a bugfix release. It is resolved in Confluence 6.0, which is yet to be released.

Stephen - this is fixed in a build which has not yet been released so it probably is resolved.

The application should not be sending messages to users that are no longer authorized to see wiki page content.

            Therefore, this is not resolved.

We see the notifications to all blog watchers regardless of permissions in 5.7.1 as well.

A user does not have to be a watcher on a space.

If a user is watching all blogs (via their profile / email settings), they will receive email notifications of blog posts (created or editing by another user) from spaces that they do not have access to (i.e. have been restricted from viewing).
