Cloud Administrators are unable to upload font files for PDF Export anymore

Although the Creating PDF in another language documentation is still pointing users to the https://<account_name>.atlassian.net/wiki/admin/flyingpdf/configurepdflanguagesupport.action URL, it isn't accessible to users without sysadmin rights anymore. The PDF Export Language Support menu option isn't visible for them either.

I understand that this isn't a new Restricted Function, but if it is, the documentation should be updated accordingly (both the Restricted Functions List and the Creating PDF in another language how-to). Otherwise, the users should regain access to the functionality.

      Update on this issue

Confluence Cloud administrators are not able to upload font collections directly, but you can request Atlassian Support to upload a collection for you.

See our Confluence Cloud documentation for more information: Create a PDF in another language

Hi hyodo, feel free to raise a support case to support.atlassian.com under OnDemand project, and attach the font to the issue. We should be able to help you upload the font to your Confluence instance.

Without this feature, Confluence OnDemand is far less useful for Japanese users. I see no Japanese characters AT ALL when I export Confluence document to PDF. This is nothing but critical for us.

This is also related to international character support on PDF export.
The built-in fonts don't have international characters hence the need to upload a custom font with the appropriate character set.

But even after uploading a custom font the situation doesn't look perfect because:

            • Only a single font is supported for PDF export (issue CONF-10048)
            • There are still some problems with international characters in the created PDF file. For instance, I was unable to get the non-English monospace text displayed

This would really be useful if it could be added. In the meantime I've requested an engineer to please import my fonts to our Confluence OnDemand.
