• We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

We want to create this issue to track the number of customers requesting high availability.

            [CONFSERVER-19528] Request for High Availability

Confluence 5.6 was our first release of Confluence Data Center, which provides both greater scalability and high availability.

You can read more about it in this blog post.

If anyone has more detailed / specific requests related to HA please feel free to raise a ticket for them and we'll track them separately.

Why this is "In Progress"? Clearly no work was done.
Either reject it or tell us what's the problem.

Natalie, why don't you put a reverse proxy (like Apahche HTTP server) in front of Confluence and configure it to reply whenever Confluence is down?

Hi, our Confluence gets very heavy usage to share documentation both between internal users and also with our client organisations. Every time there's a windows patch and the site goes down, there are calls from our clients and users - so it would be great if we could eliminate the regular downtime in the future. Or, at the very least, have a "holding page" to make it obvious to users that it's expected.

We currently have no plans to for this on our roadmaps, however please do feel free to vote/comment on this issue so we can keep track of the demand for this.
