Problem Definition
A user may feel they need to create a new Cloud site because they are not aware that they are able to join an existing Cloud site that is managed by their company/colleagues. The main pages for new site sign-ups(creation) do not currently provide feedback on which sites an end user is eligible to join via the "Approved domains" flow:
- https://www.atlassian.com/try
- Sponsored pages found using a search engine
Suggested Solution
Leverage the "Approved domains"(documentation: Approved domains) feature in such a way that if an org. admin has allowed users on a particular email domain to self sign-up for Cloud site access, then surface that information on any pages where a user can sign up for a new Cloud site.
Why this is important
- A user may not be aware that an existing Cloud site exists
- Help end users find Cloud sites their company uses
- Allows for a cleaner user experience as the end user has the opportunity to sign up(gain access) to the existing company Cloud site
- End users would be less likely to create a new Cloud site thereby contributing to shadow-IT: ACCESS-1468
