      Summary

This feature request is intended to give the user greater flexibility in determining where their site backup can be restored. Currently, users have the option to manually export a site backup as a safeguard in the case of data loss.

However, there is a new backup and restore experience in EAP: CLOUD-6498: Automatic Backup generation in Backup Manager that gives greater flexibility to automate these backups.

In addition, there is also Atlassian's RDS backup process: Track storage and move data across products. Based on the KB:

Automated Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS) backups are generated daily and retained for 30 days to allow for point-in-time data restoration. RDS snapshots are encrypted at rest.

      Suggestion

Allow the customer to restore on their production site or sandbox (child) site based on one of the two backups available

      • New Backup and Restore experience
      • Atlassian's RDS backup that captures point-in-time data restoration
