    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

    • Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence

Currently, If your cloud instance is using Atlassian’s new cloud billing engine, the uninstall button would be grayed out, and the stop trial button is not available instead, there is a Manage subscription button where you can only cancel the app subscription and you have to wait for the cancellation period.

To uninstall an app, you need to follow these steps:

      • Click on the Manage Subscription button.
      • You will be redirected to the Billing page for your cloud instance.
      • Cancel the subscription for this add-on.

The app subscription will be canceled and scheduled for deletion after the cancellation period of 30 days.

If you would like to immediately delete the subscription and not wait for the cancellation period, you need to contact the billing team where they can immediately delete the app subscription upon your request.

This request is raised to have the ability to completely uninstall an app without the need to contact Atlassian Support or Billing team.

[CLOUD-11873] Have the ability to completely uninstall an app for cloud sites using the Atlassian’s new cloud billing engine.

            Hi,

There are apps with some automations can be scheduled and they will be triggered by Atlassian every day - in which user is not having any control to stop it.(May be in the app these kind of schedules can be deactivated based on the functionality supported in the app)

Sometimes either the app owner or the customer do not want to keep the data inside Atlassian once the app is not requried by the customer, it will be good to uninstall the app and clear all storage data with respect to that cusotmer. It will be helpful with respect to the amount of Storage used for the application and also the customer do not want to get any actions triggered by the plugin.

            Thanks,

            Kavitha

            Hi,

Please implement this or take it back to how it was. We shouldnt have to wait 30 days to uninstall an app especially when it cannot be disabled.

There is really a need of immediate cancellation of an APP. The case is:
All Jira APP are ending within the trail period of another Jira APP. We have tested the APP but did not want to buy it. Currently Atlassian is not able to give a quote for all other APPs without the one we have tested. Since the trail period has not ended there is no (known) way of getting a quote for all the APPs without the one with the trail period. The thing is that the subscription time of all the other APPs is shorter than the trail period of the tested one. So this forces me that we have to revome the APP before the subscription time has ended and therefore I had to open an support case.
Please enable customers to delete the APPs by themselfes. Best regards

If this change is ever implemented, be warned that uninstalling an app from one of a customer's sites (even a sandbox) can currently break that same app's permissions on all of the customer's other active sites, if the customer is using the new user-management experience (ECO-372).

I'm trialing alternative apps, looking to what will be part of a best solution.

As a solution designer, prototyping, I need to move rapidly. If I decide I don't want the app any more then I need it (especially the UI elements) to disappear instantly. I can't design a solution efficiently when there are multiple apps junking up my UI and data. Obsolete apps get in my way, and can utterly mess up a demo if I have to show anyone else.

Waiting till the end of the billing period could be 30 days. Not even tomorrow or in an hours time would be satisfactory.

I don't even want to wait for billing to get back to me. That can be several days and if I'm rapidly prototyping I likely have multiple apps that I need to try in succession.

So I reach out, ask for the 1st bad candidate to be removed, knowing full well I'm probably going to want others removed also. But I'm still testing and so I can't tell you which ones yet.

So I'm repeatedly pestering them and they are just doing rote work.

Honestly, and with all generosity, this is beyond annoying.

We need to act quickly on this case. Thoughtful question: How does this impact the principle of not affecting the Client?

Please, this is painful and reaching out to Atlassian support is slow, we are just trying to reinstall the app and we need to wait on them to reach back, Im now a week and a half in and no reply yet

This is a very short-sighted change.  We, as customers should have the ability to remove an app that doesn't fit within our environment immediately...not after expiry.

So just to understand the point here. You make it very easy to install and try something, yet if I want to uninstall you make me go through a suffering of having the app installed until I finish the trial? Or I need to contact your support to request an expedition to remove something which I tried and clearly do not want in my system. This is a major step back as now I will for sure thing twice before I install something as I dont want to go through pain when I want to uninstall it! Make it easy to uninstall, some apps affect the functionality of the system and processes and if you dont want your clients to be very angry, make it as easy as installing it!!
