November 8, 2022 - Full data copying available for JSW, JSM and Confluence. For future improvements, see the linked sub-tasks.

      Hi everyone,

The ability to copy over all your data* is available and working in production as designed. Some limitations exist where some data is not copied, including Automation rules, Insight objects, etc. For a breakdown, please see our official documentation

We will continue investing in improvements to the full data copying process. Some of these can be found as suggestions as subtasks of the parent issue

      Regards,

      Matt Tse

            Hi Matt,

Is there any way to find out if the uncompressed XML file for Jira Work Management is 40 GB?

In our environment, the download of the backed up files takes a long time and times out.

            Hi,

What about application links for OAuth Type?

I see its mentioned somewhere that they do get disabled when moving data from Prod to Sandbox.

            Can anyone confirm?

Hi Matt - what is "awaiting release" on this issue?   It would be nice to know what is coming...

            Thank you.

Hi 604f602071b3 , we are now working on providing that functionality, starting with JSW. You can follow the progress here: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CLOUD-11155

What about having only a selection of projects copied? It's not always needed to copy everything.

Matt Tse - how about copying changes from sandbox to production?

I have no problem to follow the Atlassian instruction guide to build my sandbox for the first time.  Once the sandbox instance is built, do I need to do the 2 steps below BEFORE copy data from production for Sandbox Refresh on a regular basis?

            1. Delete the current sandbox instance
            2. Create a new sandbox instance

On one hand, I believe the media is more important for Confluence than it is for Jira because media is an integral part of Confluence pages/look-and-feel in most cases.

On another hand, I believe that the use case for a Confluence sandbox is generally not as strong as the use case for Jira/JSM, so I personally would like to see Atlassian focus on getting Jira/JSM sandbox to be robust rather than spending time on Confluence sandbox, which seems like a much lower priority.

We haven't needed the media data in the Confluence sandbox to this point and I don't foresee it being needed.

We do not use Confluence sandbox, so I can't really give good comment on that Matt.
