Within Bitbucket you can use a couple of formats to display some README text on the overview page of a repsoitory (possible markup dialects are python markdown, textilem reStructured Text ...) Those README.* files are rendered and displayed on the overview page of the repsoitory.
What I miss here is support of confluence markup as a possible format to be used within this mechanism.
As we are using JIRA (which uses confluence markup) and Bitbucket ((which does not support confluence markup), our users have to learn/use two different markup/markdown dialects to write something within two different application (although the products are manufactured by the SAME vendor Atlassian)
