There is a shortcut key for viewing tasks (SHIFTT) but none for creating a task.

[BSERV-7809] Add shortcut key for creating tasks in Pull Requests

This is related to STASH-5233; if a comment is required, I'd like to see the current comment turn into the task. If highlighting comment text is still needed, I'd like to be able to highlight the text and hit a shortcut key to create the task instead of having to mouse-over, aim, and click Create Task. I usually have one hand on the keyboard whenever the other is on the mouse.

For more context, our comments are usually along the lines of

            • "define this acronym"
            • "check for return value"
            • "update dependencies"
            • "add bounds checking"

            The comment is the task.

            Hi Dennis,

Could you elaborate on how you see this working? Currently a task is related to a comment. Are you expecting the currently focused comment to be inferred as the basis for the task, or are you wanting to create a general task not attached to any commentary? If the latter, I'm interested in the nature of the task also (ie how it came about if not from a comment).
