    • We collect Bitbucket feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

      Rationale:

      • github has it,
      • gitlab has it,
      • reviewboard has it,
      • ... name an other solution ... has it,
      • It hurts developers' productivity when they have to click click click around all the time.

This is not a new request:

Would it please be possible to enable this feature, maybe controlled by a user preference if you are worried this hurts performance; or where items are loading as the user scrolls to the bottom (infinite -scrollbar style).

This routinely comes up as a blocker for adoption, and leads us to consider alternatives.

          Form Name

[BSERV-7625] View all diffs in a single page.

            +1

Will this functionality ever be available for Bitbucket Data Center?  This seems long overdue, especially given that the feature is already available in Bitbucket Cloud.

I see that this feature is available on the Cloud version:

Why can't we have it in the DataCenter or on-premises version? Not having this feature has been identified by us as a blocker for moving to Bitbucket PR from another code review service.

            +1 for this useful feature.

If you are not able to fix this issue, at least you could provide a way to download the patch or the series (in the same format than the output of `git format-patch`).

            Hey Michael,
Yep, Caterina also pointed this out to me and I appreciate the efforts to do so but I feel that's a bit of a stop gap. While the search is actually very nice and I love how it tells you the line numbers and the info it gives it still makes it very hard to see and remember everything together. I think the best of both worlds would be incorporating that search into a single page view. I think you'd have a real winner on your hands in that scenario and I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one that appreciates that.

            Hi matt.przybylski793075315

As a side note, you can search across all the diffs in the PR by using the search bar shown. I understand it's not as convenient as cmd+f but it may be useful to you.

I'd love to see this implemented. I am trying to convince my team to move to Bitbucket Server and one of the features I'd love to see is this. My rationale for wanting this is because as described above, GitHub has it and I'm extremely used to the way GitHub handles this (not to mention BB Cloud has it as well). It makes it super easy to do a find for a piece of code you're looking at without having to jump around to separate files to see all instances of it. During reviews I often find myself scrolling down and seeing a variable or method and then wondering where else its implemented for further analysis and I don't want to have to leave the current page I'm on to do that. It's a hassle and makes me lose my spot whereas when I cmd+f and search for all instances I can usually jump back to the spot where I originally saw it.

I was linked to this issue by Caterina Curti as I made a request through a support ticket to find out if this was currently possible to set as a setting somewhere, FYI. She linked me here during our talks.

Better navigation within the diff view is something we'd like to improve, and an infinite-scroll-like approach is one option we're considering.

I'll open this suggestion to track that idea, and in the interests of not collecting more closed tickets.

Thinking about it further and reading some of the related issues, the "infinite-scrollbar style" seems to address the problem of very large diffs by loading them dynamically - I can't think of any other objections to this feature, as long as it is offered as an option (just like side-by-side diff view).
