Plugin developers currently have to indirectly infer the effective permission of an user. However, since 2.0, Stash is internally able to compute the permission graph of an user, and also use that functionality to fetch all the user's permissions once and fulfill the subsequent permission checks in-memory. Ideally the former functionality, the ability to compute an user's effective permissions, should be exposed to plugin developers.
