When your stash instance is connected to LDAP and password verification is handled by Active Directory the welcome email should not ask you to set a password.

When your stash instance is connected to LDAP and password verification is handled by Active Directory and you have enabled public sign up, you should not have to select a password, maybe just verify with the current AD password for idinticifation.
