Possibility to define capabilities for elastic agents via REST

Problem Definition

To define a new capability to an elastic agent, the only way to do is via UI. There is no option other than configuring from the UI currently.

Suggested Solution

Introduce a way to configure capabilities for elastic agents via REST API or by other means.

Why this is important

If we have a REST API in place, we will be able to automate the process of AMI creation for elastic agents by configuring capabilities for elastic agents.

Workaround

We acknowledge this isn't a comprehensive workaround but it may be helpful to know that default capabilities can be defined on a per platform (Linux vs Windows) basis for Elastic Images:
