In the next release, I have made changes to the external management section of Bamboo - so that the text is clear on instructing customers that:
- External User Management should only be enabled when using with LDAP.
- External User Management should IS NOT meant for Crowd!
The text on the page now reads - "Enable this option if you are delegating your user management to LDAP. If you are using CROWD leave this box unchecked."
As opposed to - "Enable this option if you are delegating your user management to another user management system (e.g. Crowd)."
which gives the impression that the external user management should be enabled for crowd - doing so leaves the email and full name fields null as per BAM-1681 and is not recommended!
For this, the http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/BAMBOO/5.13+Working+with+External+User+Repositories page need to be scrapped!
